The path itself is not tremendously difficult but it is 17-18 km of walking from the Puerto de Navacerrada to the Puerto de la Morcuera. If you don't have a car waiting at the other end you have to add 5-6 km extra for getting down to Miraflores which can make for a long day. The views are great but I wouldn't recommend it in icy conditions or in high summer as there is no shade of any kind on this route.
